Distortion of dimensions of models

Hello Guys,

Is it possible to distort the dimensions of 3d models before saving into .rh file?

Lets say we have a design in RH formatt and if it is shared with someone, he can reverse engineer that design using RH file (by measuring the dimensions of parts in rh file.). Does any body has an idea on possibility of showing wrong dimensions or distorted dimensions?

Thanks in advance.

BR,

Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,

Yes, with Visual Enterprise Generator or Author you have the "Randomize Objects" function.  You can use this function to perturb the surface of the model or object by small, random amounts. It keeps the normals correct, however, so that the object still looks smooth. This in turn makes precise measurements inaccurate.

Hi Ken,

Now I might be asking for too much, please dont mind

Is it possible to undo the "Randomize objects"?

Rajesh,

It is possible to Undo the randomize objects, but only during the authoring stage when the "randomization" is first applied and the model is not yet saved by the user or system.  Once the model is saved, it cannot be undone.
