Error in SPAM 7.30 update with patch 0052(KD73052....

Hi Expert,

We're updating the SPAM 7.30 patch 0039 to 0052(KD73052.SAR) in BW 7.3 system with MS-SQL 2012 database.

During the import_proper phase getting the following error.

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

- Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER

- Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

- Return code: 0008

- Error message: OCS Package ALL, tp step "6", return code 0008

For the reference of this error message attaching the error logs as well.Please check the same & suggests.

Hi,

After all the trouble you had (btw: I run a BW 7.30 SP11 System with SPAM 7.30/0053 directly on MSSQL 2012), don't forget to check the BW Basis Customizing.

You have a non supported environment, that is why you are facing this dumps.

As per note 1651862:


Required minimum SAP Netweaver Support Package Stacks (SPSs) for SQL Server 2012 (SAP ABAP, SAP ABAP+JAVA stacks)
SAP NETWEAVER 7.3 - SPS 07 (SAP BASIS 07, SAP BW 07)


If your system is running on a SPS lower than the one required above, you have to apply the minimum required SPS before upgrading/migrating to SQL Server 2012.
If you install a NetWeaver product on SQL Server 2012, the required SPS for your product must be applied immediately after the installation - see SAP note 1676665, section I for more information.

As I've installed successfully N.W 7.3 with MS-SQL 2012 database on window 2012 R 64 bit server.Now issues are facing during the patching for N.W 7.3 ABAP stack.

Want to know about- Is MS-Sql 2012 database directly supportive to N.W 7.3 Versions.

If YES .After installation Can we process to patch the ABAP stack on this environment( N.W 7.3 + MS-SQL 2012 +Window 2012 R2)

Needs to install N.W 7.3 on MS-SQL 2008 SP1 Database first .then proceed the patching for ABAP stack SPS 07 (SAP BASIS 07, SAP BW 07).after that upgrade the Database from MS-Sql 2008 to Ms-Sql 2012 on N.W 7.3 System

As unable to update the SPAM update on MS-SQL 2012 R2 database .Hence I've uninstall the N.W 7.3 + MS-SQL 2012 R2 Product on Window 2012 R2 64.After that Re-install the N.W 7.3 with MS-SQL 2008 R2 database on window 2012 R2 server first and

applied the all latest Support package for ABAP stack.Then have upgraded database from MS-SQL 2008 R2 to MS-SQL 2012 R2 via SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM)-SAP Note 1680045.

Now N.W 7.3 System is working fine.

As per Gaurav's statement he is correct read the note carefully it is applicable to your version 710 and subsequent.

So please follow note instructions , and if the recommended actions do not work log an OSS to sap as per note instructions with specific reference to the sap note in question.

Hi,

as I can see there is some inconsistency on DB level. For example, P140211.txt points out that the last DDL statement

ETP399 ALTER TABLE [PATHISTORY] ADD

3 ETP399 [DACT_SUBSET] nvarchar(000001)

3 ETP399 NOT NULL DEFAULT ' '

fails because the field DACT_SUBSET (which is being added to table PATHISTORY) already exists there. Unfortunately i've got no idea how it happened.

Probably the best solution would be reset of SPAM update process (if possible). Otherwise you need to restore your DB from backup up to the initial (0039) state.

After that i would recommend update your DBSL up to the recent one if it's not the case.

And start SPAM update from scratch...

Did you apply the latest kernel patch with the DBSL patch? As well as the latest tp and R3trans? If you didn't you should anytime before applying patches.

Please check the following note

1925089 - SPAM tool terminates with SQL error 7 - "feature not supported"

Although it may applicable to 7.40, but you can try running that report listed in the above note.

Have checked that the DB has enough space? Run report RDDNEWPP as user DDIC in all clients?

Go to SPAM > Goto >> Import logs >> SPAM/Saint logs and see the detailed error.

As per my observation on this issue.while executing SPAM update steps .Noticed that Table "OCSCMPLOBJ" causing the issue.This Table going to deleted in every SPAM Run.

I've tried to recreated many times "OCSCMPLOBJ" table from SAP(Se14 tcode) & MS-SQL Management studio both.

Before Executing the SPAM update run this table OCSCMPLOBJ visible in Database. but it got deleted during SPAM run Once this following Error message prompted

same Checked that table from se11 from SAP level.noticed the below message.

Table OCSCMPLOBJ does not exist in the database

everytime needs to create this table manually from SE14.

Kindly share your thought on this issue.why this table deleted during SPAM update.

Can you login to SAP system and open transaction code SE14.

In this tcode activate all the tables mentioned in the log file P140211.txt.

Post activation resume the SPAM update and check the results.
