Hi Dubey,

I also faced same issue in SAP AIX installtion with 11g, Tis is due to Software Transfer.

please transfer the dump in Binary mode / use Winscp than Filezilla to solve the issue.

Good Luck

Regards,

Siva.

Hi Ajitabh,

I looked once more your provided jpg files & in Error_1.jpg your stage directory is with root permission but it should be with ora<sid> permission. So i suggest you to please change the ownership of your stage directory with ora<sid>:dba & rexecute the phase again .

Thanks,

Hi Ajitabh,

You may follow 2 options as I feel there could be some issue with DVD dump.

1) Cleanup the oracle software installation done so far and being from scratch

2) Download new set of Oracle DVDs , copy it again and startup fresh installation from scratch for SAP as well As database.

Hope this helps.

. (OK)      -  Run-time location /oracle/G1D/112_64 is a directory.

You have /oracle/G1D/11203 and /oracle/G1D/112_64

The /oracle/G1D/11203 should be a file system and /oracle/G1D/112_64 should be a symbolic link to /oracle/G1D/11203

Also it says that the /oracle/G1D/11203 is no empty ?

Check whether there are some files present there or not.

Hello Reagan,

I have tried already to empty the /oracle/G1D/11203 directory but still again it asked for the /bin folder, where /bin folder is inside the /oracle/G1D/11203 directory, once i created the directory structure as /oracle/G1D/11203/bin  then it goes ahead.

The /oracle/G1D/11203 should be a file system and /oracle/G1D/112_64 should be a symbolic link to /oracle/G1D/11203:-->what does this mean?

guys please help me out to resolve the issue ASAP.

Hello Ajitabh

You don't need to create the bin folder under /oracle/G1D/11203. The bin gets created when you install the Oracle software.

Delete everything under /oracle/G1D/11203 and also remove the directory /oracle/G1D/112_64.

su - orag1d

Set the DISPLAY

Start the runinstaller under orag1d

Provide the error you get.

You need to check this for more information

You can find the installation summary log at /oracle/G1D/11ginstall_11203.log

...The java class is not found:  oracle.install.ivw.db.driver.DBInstaller

Regarding this, set the JAVA_HOME dor orasid before you start the installer and see if that helps.

Eg:

setenv JAVA_HOME /usr/java14_64/jre

Also set the ulimit for orasid to unlimited

Check whether all the filesets for AIX 6.1 installed on the system.

Also check whether you have the required version of the AIX 6.1 TL level available for the 11G installation.

It's hard to answer on your question not seeing what you are doing. From log provided: the error The java class is not found:  oracle.install.ivw.db.driver.DBInstaller was resolved. Try to remove /oracle/G1D/11203 directory and start installation again. Upload log file here (if possible attach it as file).

You have to create the soft link with command: ln -s 11203 /oracle/G1D/112_64....if the soft link do not exist already..

Please find the below output of the command:

% ln -s 11203/oracle/G1D/112_64

ln: 0653-417 ./112_64 is a directory. (cannot unlink)

% pwd

/oracle/G1D

%

Kindly suggest please.

You issue is:

Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /oracle/G1D/.11ginstall_11203.tmp/OraInstall2014-02-11_04-27-05AM. Please wait ...The java class is not found:  oracle.install.ivw.db.driver.DBInstaller

That's why you can't see OUI screen.

Can you create a new session for ora<sid> user and provide output of env command?

Do as installer instruct you (on your screenshot DB_Software.JPG):

1. open new ssh session and log in as ora<sid> user (NOT as root), or su - ora<sid>

2. set variable DISPLAY (setenv DISPLAY mypc:0.0 or export DISPLAY=mypc:0.0)

3. run RUNINSTALLER from the specified location as you did...it will open new window

Hi,

Action clearly says to set DB_SID environment variable, set it and then continue.

I can see you are running RUNINSTALLER in standard Unix screen, but Installer need GUI.

Install XManager or something which has the functionality and then continue.

Please note what installer says exactly:

1. login as user ora<sid>

.

.

.

.

by login as this user variable is set as well, but moreover many others are set....

So just by setting it manually and try to continue, you would run to more problems...

Hi Ajitabh,

variable DISPLAY should be set using ora<sid>.

After doing this, you can continue running ./RUNINSTALLER. No further works would be needed here.

As already wrote: run Oracle installation as ora<sid> user. From your screenshot you started it as root user.

Hi Johnny,

The Display Variable is already set from ora<SID> user.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks

You must run the script as ora<sid> user, not as root as you did (evidence: your screenshot)
