BW workbench (RSA1) from HANA studio?

Hi,

I read that SAP BW workbench will be available in HANA studio after SP7.

Is it now integrated?

Can somebody let me know the steps to configure it my sudio?

Any plugins if required and where to get that plugin from?

Hi All,

Yes. There are quite a few things that we have in the BW Perspective in SAP HANA Studio. Firstly, most of the info providers of BW are listed in the Navigator of your project(left hand side). On double clicking on any one of these, you're most likely to open the maintainance of these objects via the SAP ABAP UI in eclipse.

Yes, the same screen that we see via SAP GUI is rendered within studio.

Having said that, there is some stuff which has been recreated in Eclipse.So when you open these providers, the maintanance is not via ABAP GUI but via the very native Eclipse UI. 

Besides other stuff, 

1) Open ODS View

2) HANA Composite Provider

3) BEx Query

are some objects that are offered in native Eclipse.

Note : For Configuring the BW Perspective, it is mandatory to have ABAP Development Tools installed already.

It seems it is possible to do edit other infoproviders as well.

Hi Sidharth,

There are some new functionalities with BW 7.4 on HANA

I do not think RSA1 functionalities can be used through HANA Studio

But Composite Provider and some other stuff can be done in HANA Studio

Yes...even i could not find anything around BW on Eclipse.

I think we need to wait for the plugins.

You must be having repository of SAP Materials dude .

Had a look on the BW prespective in SAP HANA ... it looks like a refreshing RSA1.. ( is it jst published ? how are u getting alerts on the new documents i see it is Feb 2014 )

Hi Krishna,

I do have few materials not a repository

I follow BW on HANA Space and just checked one feed in my activity and it had details about BW perspective

I follow only 4-5 spaces so I get to see lot of activity in them

Thanks Vivek for sharing the link.

It talks about the creation of Composite providers.

I am wondering if other infoproviders can also be created from the BW perspective.

Need to install and check!!
