Commitment documents not distributed after Assessment cycles

Hello,

We use the actual assessment cycles to distribute the actual posting from a cost center sender to cost center receivers.

We use PSM-Funds Managements.

In the configuration, we activated the business transaction RKUI "Actual assessment" (SPRO>PSM>Funds Managements>Actual and Commitment Update Integration>Integration> Integration with Cost and Project Controlling>Choose business transactions for integration).

In the config, we also activated the CO-FM  integration ((SPRO>PSM>Funds Managements>Actual and Commitment Update Integration>Integration> Integration with Cost and Project Controlling>Activate Integration Costs and Project Controlling).

In the config, we also activated "Commitment Update" in the Controlling area, also in the master data of the Cost center (KS02) (Indicator "Lock Commitment update" is not set), master data of the GL account (commitment Nr is defined). Derivation rules (FMDERIVE) is also implemented to derive a commitment item from a cost element.

We execute the actual assessment cycle, everything is going fine except that the commitment documents are not distributed.

When checking the report S_ALR_87013620 to compare the plan, commitment and actual documents, actual documents are correctly distributed. But commitment documents are not distributed.

Do you know what we forget to implement?

Many thanks for your help,

Kael

Hi,

There is nothing you forgot, but CO commitments are not distributed with CO allocation cycles. You can distribute either actuals or plannig data, but no commitments. Report S_ALR_87013620 will not depend on the settings you made in FM (FMDERIVE, etc.) neither, as this report shows only CO data.

Regards,

Eli

hello Eli,

thank you for your response ... this is what I was afraid to hear!

Before to contact you, I had made some investigations and some info I found on SAP website lead me to confusion as it was written something like "Funds and Functional areas are now considered when you allocate planned, commitment and actual amounts".

Best regards,

Yes, this is confusing! It appears though in 4.70 release HelpBook, which might be not revised.

Hello,

If it is not possible to distribute CO commitments with CO allocation cycles, how is it possible to have homogenous results in the report S_ALR_87013620 when using assessment cycles with plan and actual documents?

After assessment cycle execution, the plan and actual amounts will be distributed on receiver cost centers but commitment amounts will still be on the sender cost centers. The total amount "available" will be correct. But by cost center, the amount "available" will be incorrect.

thanks,

Kael

Hi,

That's system design. When distributing actuals, you don't have to preserve the link to the original document: it's linked only through allocation data tables. While commitment has to remain intact, as it's deduction cannot be registered, if the link to original commitment (EMF, PO) is 'damaged' by distribution.
