2 SAP systems in single MSCS

Hi Experts,

We have 2 physical server for our PRD environment. We need to have both ECC and Portal has to be accomodated within this 2 physical servers.

Planned to have single MSCS between 2 physical servers so that i will install both ECC and Portal.

I didnt find any technical issues having 2 system in single cluster. However before proceeding further thought of checking.

If we can proceed with this setup do i need to take care of any specific configuration setup?

Hi Raja

Yes, you can install the Two SAP SID's in one Windows MSCS environment,

1. Before stating you have to do the Hardware sizing based on SAP ECC & Portal.

2. At the time of installation you may require to create independent Windows MSCS SAP groups for SAP ECC & portal,

Thanks for the reply.

As you mentioned need to create seperate group for SAP ECC and portal. Similarly need to create seperate group for MS SQL database server as well or creating a single group is enough.

Hi Raja

In your case it will be three groups for SAP & one windows MSCS, each group you have to define the DNS hostname(Virtual host),IP & Cluster disk

1. SAP ECC -

2. SAP Portal

3. For ECC & Portal Database (MS Sql DB)

4. Windows cluster
