Dear SRM Experts!
We are running SRM 7.0205 (SAPK-70205INSRMSRV), integrated with SAP ECC 6.06 (SAPKH60604), and have currently NOT activated “Hierarchies for Product Categories” in SRM (IMG activity - SAP SRM - SRM Server - Cross-Application Basic Settings - Activate Hierarchies for Product Categories, etc)
We are, however, using Product Hierarchies in SAP ECC (MARA-PRDHA), and have already replicated materials to SRM. A few questions:
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Aleem
Hi Aleem,
I am afraid that even if you activate 'Hierarchies for product categories', ECC product hierarchy won't be replicated to SRM side.
the reason is as below:
==========
this is not supported in srm.
The download of R3PRODHIER (tables T179/T179T) is deactivated for
object DNL_CUST_PROD1. you can check in
Tables / Structure
tables set to inactive
currently SRM doesn't support product hierarchy via middleware,
so table SMOT179T is
empty in SRM side. For CRM, this should be supported.
==========
The workaround is as below:
=====
you can check note 831808. maybe this will help you.
11.4 Hierarchies
11.4.1 Uploading Product Category Hierarchy Files from
External Systems
To upload product category hierarchy information to SAP Supplier
Relationship Management
(SAP SRM 7.0) through a flat file adapter, see the detailed instructions
provided in SAP Note
831808 Attachments .
via middleware we only provide Product Hierarchy for material.
(Materialarten ,Materialklassen )
also you could use
this BAdI (BBP_PRODCAT_HIER) to change a structure that you get from
the ERP System into a hierarchical structure or tailor the existing
structure to the required structure.

Ivy
