Hi Frnds,
Any one help me here.
How much data PI is handling to process the messages?
Regards,
Madhu.
Hi N Madhu
You have to be more specific.
It depends on many factors for instance: like infrastructure, tuning, adapter type...

If you have any specific scenario for large no of transactions, it would be great if you put it here.

Also, as mentioned by Venkat, you have an option (in file adapter) to split a huge file into small chunks which will then be merged into one file at the receiver's end. However, this option can only be used for file-to-file transfer and no mapping can be done.
If you have file interfaces involving huge files and mapping is also required, you can try with the option 'Recordset per message'.
So, if you can provide some more details like on which version of PI you are and what are your scenarios, we can provide you with exact details.

Aman

Hello Madhu,
If you mean the maximum payload size that can be processed in PI without affecting system performance, then the recommended size is upto 5 MB. However, it purely depends on your system's hardware configuration. Have a talk with your Basis team regarding Heap Memory size. You will get an idea.

Hi ,
Your question is not clear .
SAP recommends 5 MB avg size to have better performance.
From 7.3 onwards we have message split by chunks options available in channel for handling huge files.
We are in 7.1 version .We don't have the above option of split .So we are having couple of interface with 3gb and 5gb size for these interfaces ,we are using shell script to transfer the file from one server to other without bringing it to PI app server ,but as per SAP version you can handle huge files using ICO .
Regards
Venkat
