Hi,
We've recently implemented the SLA functionality in our SolMan ITSM system. Based on our requirements, we assigned the service products to the category 4 entries in the categorization schema. As an effect, we had to replace certain category 4 entries with new and more appropriate ones. Is it possible then to expire the old categories that we replaced to prevent the users from choosing them?
Hoping for your assistance. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Theresa
Hi Theresa,
It is possible MLC are version based so goto
categorization schemas and choose new version for your existing one.
Schedule it with future date and time with release status
once that time comes the old one get deactivated and the new version will be activated for your transaction types

Hope this resolves

Hi, Prakhar.
Thanks for your recommendation. We actually do versioning whenever we make changes in the MLC schema.
Are you saying then that I should delete the old and obsolete categories in the new version of the MLC schema that I'm going to deploy? If so, won't that have an effect on the historical transactions that uses the old categories? Also, will the deleted categories still be available for reporting of historical transactions?
Regards,
Theresa
Hi Theresa,
Normally you have copied the existing Schema id and make the new version and do the customizing.
check the Change an Active Categorization Schema in below link
