Hello William,

Can we not alert the moderator when we see a thread in open state even after it has been answered? May be the moderator can close that one marking it as answered?

Moderators are not in the business of policing the the answered status of the threads.  I do suggest that everyone manage their own threads and close them if there is a good answer. Ultimately that benefits everyone, not just the OP and the answerer.
