Hello,
Currently we are on BW on HANA (BW 7.3 SP9) and we are trying import BW model into HANA and later expose them in Explorer.
In the HANA Studio I am doing File>Import> Import SAP NetWeaver BW Models>New Connection>Lists all the infoproviders> Selected one of the infoproviders (HANA Optimized DSO) > Finish
It runs for some time and gives out an error message "Completed with errors", In the error log I find lot line with message "Table could not be found or the user does not access privileges".
Does anyone anyone know what user is missing access privileges? is it the BW side or the HANA side?
attached is the screen print of error.
HANA Studio Details;
Version: 1.0.7000
Build id: 386119
Thanks
Ram
Hi Ram,
Do you have access to BW on HANA Schema?

Hi Ram,
I guess Vivek is mentioning whether you have proper SQL privileges on BW schema.
You need to have the below mentioned privileges:
1) BW schema in the SQL privileges for the Modeler user to import BW models
2) _SYS_REPO user has SELECT with GRANT privileges on the schema that contains the BW tables.

Krishna,
How do I verify if we have the below mentioned privileges,
1) BW schema in the SQL privileges for the Modeler user to import BW models
2) _SYS_REPO user has SELECT with GRANT privileges on the schema that contains the BW tables.
I am attching the secrity snap shots of both Modeler user and _SYS_REPO
Right now my HANA studio version is 70 and I don't see the option "Sql Privileges" under security, Is this option combined with something else?
Thanks
Ram
Vivek,
How do I know the target schema name where the BW models get imported?
Are the models imported to Modeler's user schema in my case "ENA_ADMIN"?
If I try to create a attribute and analytic view I am getting error creating views under "_SYS_BIC", so what is this "_SYS_BIC" here, if its is a target schema why is it not listed in the list of users?
Any thoughts? Your help is very much appreciated
Thanks
Ram
Hi Ram,
You just need to follow the below steps:
Even if you have performed them, try performing them again
1.) Log in to HANA Studio as SAPDAT user and run the following statements:
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA SAPDAT TO "_SYS_REPO"
GRANT EXECUTE ON SCHEMA SAPDAT TO "_SYS_REPO";
2.) Log into HANA Studio as ENA_ADMIN user and assign him SAPDAT schema privilege with SELECT, EXECUTE privileges and I guess it already has Modeling role assigned to it
Also run the below statements:
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA ENA_ADMIN TO "_SYS_REPO"
GRANT EXECUTE ON SCHEMA ENA_ADMIN TO "_SYS_REPO";
GRANT INSERT ON SCHEMA ENA_ADMIN TO "_SYS_REPO";
GRANT UPDATE ON SCHEMA ENA_ADMIN TO "_SYS_REPO";
3.) Import BW Model and during import select Target System as "ENA_ADMIN"
All your imported models will be created in ENA_ADMIN schema
_SYS_BIC is a standard schema
In HANA, if you create any View(Attribute, Analytic or Calculation), for these Views, automatically a Column View is generated inside _SYS_BIC schema
These Column Views are accessed by reporting tools
You can't make changes in _SYS_BIC Schema

Vivek
Hi,
I have made an Analytic view with two tables i.e. Brand and Products, connected a join between common field Brand_ID.
Took Brand Name, Price and Product Name as an output.
Validated it and Activated it
Opened the _SYS_BIC_ in IDT and dragged the analytic view created in HANA studio.
When iam trying to see the table values it is only giving values for the one specific brand and not for the whole list of brands.
Like there are approx 10 brands and i am seeing only products for one particular brand i.e. Pepe (Brand)------Goggle and Jeans (Products)
Please find the attachment of same.
Need you suggestions

Hi Ram,
Please make sure all the prerequisites are ok - see SAP note 1764251 - Documentation- Importing BW Models in SAP HANA Modeler (see attached docu) or the http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Modeling_Guide_en.pdf - section 6.6
If all seems to be in order, please do not hesitate opening a customer message.

Gabor
