Hi,

I`d like to ask you about one case. I try to install new SAP ERP ECC 6.06 system, based on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and Oracle 11.2.0.3.

From OSS I download Software Provisioning Mgr 1.0 and SAP software:

SAP ERP -> SAP ERP ENHANCANE PACKAGE -> EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 -> SAP EHP3 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0

Later on fresh version SUSE I run SWPM -> SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP 3 -> ABAP -> Oracle -> Central system. During the SAP installation, I saw information about ORACLE installation:

Log in as user ora<sid>

Set the DISPLAY variable

Change the directory...

Start ./RUNINSTALLER

Then I logon to the system as ora<sid>, and I created directory and changed premission to thes directories:

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/dbs

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/network

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/network/admin

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin/oracle

chmod 777

Next I download last /RUNINSTALLER version (NOTE 1524205) and I started installation Oracle. All looks weel, I instaled Oracle, after instalation I run script:

oraInstRoot.sh

root.sh

ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/<SID>/11203

pathname local bin directory = /usr/local/bin/

and created links - ln -s 11203 /oracle/<SID>/112_64

But if I try continue SAP installation, I see information:

THE ORACLE DATABASE SOFTWARE IN NOT YET INSTALLED.

Of coure I restarted SWPM, and still I have problem. What should I do, where is the problem ?

Regards,

T.

Hello

Then I logon to the system as ora<sid>, and I created directory and changed premission to thes directories:

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/dbs

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/network

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/network/admin

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin

mkdir /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin/oracle

chmod 777

You don't need to do this.

Is this documented somewhere ?

These are created automatically by the installer.

Also there shouldn't be a directory like this: /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin/oracle

The /oracle/<SID>/11203/bin/oracle should be a binary file.

I found these information on SCN, maybe I`m wrong.

In the catalog /orace/<SID/11203/bin/oracle/ - I see one binary file - oracle

I don`t know, if I good understand.

Should I deleted all files from /oracle/<SID>/11203 folder, and should I started Oracle or SAP installation again ?

Based on the information provided above the installation of Oracle is not correct.

All those directories are created and files are put there by the installer.

You only need to install the Oracle software correctly.

Start the RUNINSTALLER under orasid and just install the database software.

Dear AT,

Check soft link directory correct or not.

1.  Just, Rename the directory: /oracle/SOL/112_64 to /oracle/SOL/11203. No need to make

      subdirectories dbs, network.

2.  Then create a symbolic link 112_64, which points to the target directory 11203.

Hello

Follow this SAP note for Oracle client information.

819829 - Oracle Instant Client Installation and Configuration on Unix

To manage Oracle database you need to use BRTools.
