Hello Ravindra,

If you are in a Fortune 500 or above company I would find out if there are any changes planned for image used to install the Microsoft OS on desktop's, laptop's, and mobile devices.

Monitoring Microsoft and SAP product compatibility is an ongoing process. Both SAP Portals and ABAP Systems have unique requirements for consuming WEB GUI sessions.  As Desktop applications change from Browser level’s to Microsoft Office transitions from Office 2010 to 2013 we need to ensure our backend systems won’t experience integration issues with those and other external third party applications.  SAP will continuously update the SAP GUI client components like SAPSetup.exe, Core Patch levels, and Add-On’s.  Any Microsoft updates can require SAP to deploy updates in order resolve compatibility with newer Microsoft OS 8.1 and applications like Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365.

Talk with your BASIS Administrators as well because there are thresholds limited by kernel and SAP_BASIS component which update Mimes and Templates.

Cheers,

Dan Mead

Hello Ravindra,

If you have no current issues, then stay with your current patch.

If you have issues, then check if your issue is addressed in the patch info file.

The reason we ask you to use the latest patch is that we don't provide corrections for patches lower than the current one.

Hello,

You can check the issues solved in patch 7 by selecting the info link behind the actual patch in the SAPNet download area. You can see that there are quite a lot of issues addressed in this latest patch.

Kindest regards, Wilbert

Hi Ravindra

Currently are you facing any issue in the SAPGUI 7.30? If it is yes you can apply the latest patch otherwise it’s not required. Keep the same patch level.

As mention by Wibert you find lots of SAP Notes in the patch 7

Hi Ravindra

In that you have to check the all SAP Notes from patch 4 to 7 and then take a call required or not,

as mention in the below link for this required SAP S-user id

https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001043&_EVENT=INFO&INFONR=0120025231000...

Hello Ravindra,

If you're having an issue in patch 3, then just install patch 7 and see whether your issue is solved. If not, you can raise an incident with SAP (they will advise you to install the latest patch anyway).
