Report RUTTTYPSET ....step 28 taking too long in Installation

Hello all,

During the installation of ERP 2005 SR2 on SQL server, at the step 28(run ABAP reports), the installation process is stand still for the past 26 hours., and I am seeing on the status on the task progress to be "Executing ABAP Report RUTTTYPSET..."

So i was just wondering, how long is usually takes for this step to execute.

I checked all the forums, OSS notes etc, and found one OSS notes that 1013391 which gives the common problems one can face during the installation.

It says

For example: 'Executing ABAP report RUTTTYPSET...'. When this step is

executed there maybe a system overload due to background jobs automatically

started in parallel by the system. Wait some minutes then press the 'Retry'

I did get this message during installation and i did the same by pressing retry button. From that time, i am seeing no progress except, that status of executing ABAP Report RUTTTYPSET.

The sapinst.log shows the following,

System memory is 2.0 gig and xeon processor 3.0 fsb 667 mhz.

Did any one had this problem before??

log into your SAP server with SAPGUI and check logs in SM37 for that job.

I have a feeling that your system is swapping/paging to death and that it is too slow to run jonbs before WP timeout.
