Ibase upgrading to solman 7.1

Hello,

we have started a upgrade of our Solman to 7.1 SP8 (from 7.0 ehp1) in ITSM Scenario,

We would like to know if the ibase for Business partner need to be changed , ou to be regenerated ?

Do we need to restart from scratch ? in solman_setup the ibase creation is a  step for master data creation. (and to connect it the LMDB)

From my view, it would not be changed though we need to regenerate it to to make it available from LMDB.

hi,

There are many ways,

System automatically updates IBASE, if you set the Ib_Gen_Auto = x in the dno_cust04 tcode.

or you can cleanup the ibase entries before solman_Setup configuration, then proced with the solman_setup step 8, this also avoid duplicate entries.

or you can go for the sap notes like   1817955 - LMDB/IBase: Duplicated objects

all the ways, you need to regenerate via SOlman_Setup to get it integrate with LMDB.

Thanks for your answers.

in BP (identification field) we have assigned Ibase Ids.(7.0 ehp1)

we use base management to assign objects (application systems in this scenario) to

customers. Data from support messages is compared with the IBases so that the right IBase and the right customer are found automatically and entered in the service process.

It seems we have to regenerated ibase's IDs after upgrade/copy to Solman 7.1, so does it means we have to modify manually  every BPs ?

Above activities will take care in solman_setup -> Basic Configuration -> Step:8 Maintain System in IBase
