SAP Screen Personas - Flavors is Empty

Hello,

After the SAP Screen Personas installation, the flavors have empty values in ADMIN_UI - transaction.

Do you know / please guide us on how to populate the flavors and assign to users?

Hi,

I did not understand your problem.

If you have just installed Personas, you won't have any flavors. You need to create them first and share with users.

There are some good tutorials on here (SCN) that will help you. Here the link.

Hello Abhi,

Well, in order to create the Flavors we launched the miniapp and tried to connect the system.

The GEAR icon just appear for a second and disappearing from the browser window.

Any help here would be appreciate.

All the following URLs are working fie as per the Master and Configuration guide..

Please assign personas role "full editing rights" to your user and try again.

Are you able to launch Personas at all? Are you able to see the Basic View?

Hello Sushant,

Yes, I have already assigned the FULL EDITING RIGHTS to my id.

I am able to launch the Personas and able to see the system to connect. When I click on SYSTEM, the browser tries to refresh the screen and Gear Icon appears for a second and disappearing.

Well the gear icon is supposed to come when you enter any system.

Are you able to click on DEV system and see the Basic View of SMEN transaction.

Then there is something wrong with your restgui setting OR the way you have entered the System parameters for target system.

We did follow the same document in the past as well as we did verified against it again...

RESTGUI:

Compression is ON

Following parameters are set.

Parameter	Value
~RESTGUI	1
~XSRFCHECK	0
~WEBGUI	1

Handle class is set up as “CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS_BASIC”

The error pages have – radio button ‘Explicit Response Time’ selected.

Also, ITS memory is set as em/global_area_MB = 2048 MB

What else we might be missing or going wrong?

I work with Nikee and we have been trying to resolve this issue for almost a week now.

The issue is as follows -

I believe we have the following done correctly based on config guide and all the SCN postings -

1) SAP Personas 200 + SP1 patch level. Kernel and corresponding patch is up to date. Our system is on EHP7.

2) ITS memory is set properly

3) All relevant services activated

4) FULL_ACCESS_EDIT role assigned with permission bit 1-

5) Rest GUI configured - details listed in the post above.

6) System configured along with the group etc. Server.Url and Service.Uri assigned with due attention to the case sensitivity, etc.

7) We have verified the cross-domain policy several times

😎 We have verified the clientaccesspolicy several times as well.

Most of these details are already listed in the above posting along with screen shots in most places.

When we execute 'Mainapp' service from SICF, we are presented with the system selection page. On clicking the system, nothing happens. There is an indication of post back but nothing moves further.

I have tried log = debug option but the console doesn't give much info.

On IE11 it gives the following error -

Not sure whether these errors are relevant or not. We are at a standstill now. It is a bit frustrating to have to struggle so much to merely install a tool that will supposedly help with the user experience.

Any feedback that even stimulates thinking in the right direction will be very helpful.

For your target system restgui service, can you check under Handler List, whcih class is there?

Make sure you have class as "CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS_BASIC"

As mentioned in the post above under restgui related details, the handler class is CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS_BASIC

I will look into uploading HAR files tomorrow as I do not have firebug installed on the machine that I have now.  However, the error log is posted above for your perusal and they are some what vague in pointing out the issue.

Ok, lets first break down.

Have you first tested your RETSGUi service is its working?

First type this in your browser

http://host:port/sap/restgui/newsession?sap-client=XXX

You should get back a session ID.

Now, use this session ID to form a URl like this:

http://host:port/sap(SID=)/restgui/state/text

Do you see a control state tree?

I renamed the ScreenMode.js.bak to ScreenMode.js

This was based on your previous blog

  Currently Being Moderated  Hi Alain,  Please go to SE80 and see BSP application "/persos/mainapp". Under that "MIMEs" folder.You will notice that ScreenMode.js has been renamed to ScreenMode.js.BAK OR ScreenMode.js.BAK1.So you just need to rename any one of them to ScreenMode.js (Just remove the .BAK).  The source of this problem and resolution can be found here 1617634 and 1553061. If you want, you can anyways follow all the instructions present here or just move ahead with renaming the file.    Now, for the behavior you are mentioning, I would recommend to check the configurations nicely from here:http://scn.sap.com/community/gui/blog/2013/08/28/sap-screen-personas--how-to-configure-the-system-tr...  And if you see the same behavior, please report it to us in the OSS message.  Regards,Sushant

I am able to access this and then download it.

It is frustrating indeed. We are competing with Netsuite.  Netsuite does screen personalization out of the box and I am really struggling to get the basic tool installed. Netsuites queries are ajaxified and our matchcode/search help are not. It is the UI that I have focus on to convince my user community that SAP stands tall. We really needed Personas yesterday and there is a bit of apprehension whether Persona can do everything.
