Hi,

Dear all,

getting following error in upgrade of solution manager 701 with SUM. and getting nothing please advise.

Could not start SAP instance with number 50. Could not send the command to start the instance with number 50 on host nlsolman. No instance was found in the system instances list with number 50 and host name nlsolman.

I had the same issue. Sapcontrol returns nothing about 0 instance:

hostname, instanceNr, httpPort, httpsPort, startPriority, features, dispstatus

<host>, 1, 50113, 0, 1, MESSAGESERVER|ENQUE, GRAY

<host>, 2, 50213, 50214, 2, ABAP|GATEWAY|MESSAGESERVER|ENQUE, GRAY

<host>, 0, 50013, 50014, 3, , GRAY

I tried to restart service. PID had changed but issue still was presented.

Solution:

kill -9 service process

cleanipc <nr> remove

sapcontrol -nr <nr> -function StartService <SID>

Hi Saroj,

Maintain the SAPLOCALHOST parameter in environment variable.

Kindly paste the screenshot of the error

Manually give the startsap command and simultaneously retry the pase.

Below the is the error

Is CI is on other system or it is on nlsolman. checked the start profile

1. Stop the SUM and kill the process STARTUP process

2 set the environment SAPLOCALHOST

3. Then start the STARTUP in the same session where you set the environment.

Actuall it is not getting the Centarlinstance and startprofile so checked the profiles.

1-Ci on same host.

2-stop the SUM and exit.

3-set env for localhost for sidadm in both file sapenv_profile.cs and chs

SUM started again.

Have you tried manually stopping all instances .. Kill all zombies.. Clean up ipc for all the instances.. and restart?

The error you are getting is self explanatory..  hope you have given the correct SY number...
