Dear SAPgui Product Management,
could you please tell us the planned date for the pilot phase of SAPgui 740?
How can we apply for the pilot phase?
We have to plan the upgrade to SAPgui 740 already in September 2014 because the inputs for our Citrix spring release in march 2015 have to be defined mid-october.
Kind regards
Markus Schneckenburger
The general availability of SAP GUI for Windows 7.40 is planned for 25th of August 2014.
The before planned beta program is postponed and no fixed date for that is available these days...
Kind regards,
Martin

SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 is built with Visual Studio 2010 (which is supported until July 2015). Therefore, SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 can be supported longer than release 7.20 (see also note 147519).

I don't think it will be released soon. But who knows?

It seems there is no official info about the 7.40 release date (eg in 1053737 - Expected release dates for SAP GUI for Windows), however in some OSS notes it's already mentioned (eg 1981118 - ABAP Editor - Code completion for meshes and Open SQL: "An upgrade to SAP GUI 7.40 will also solve the issue."). Only thing I could find is this:
