SAP Sourcing custom field addition

Hello Gurus

I am new to sap sourcing. We have a requirement of adding a custom field on RFx header page. Can someone please help me with the steps explaining how to add custom fields in sourcing 7.0.

Any document or link to explain this will be really helpful.

adding custom fields can be accomplished either with the Extension Definition or WYSIWYG tools in the setup area of the application.  In the case of Extension definition there are 2 steps first step is to have an extension definition for the document class you want in your case Rfx (classid 900) next you add an actual field. you are able to pick the field datatype and by default the filed will appear at the bottom of the header page. Using a page customization you are able to place the field anywhere in header page or other page that you need. The WYSIWYG is a bit more intuitive in placing the new field where you want.   There is some information in the online help but there isn't that much. In general this is a rather easy process to accomplish in the UI.   It is best to experiment in Development or sandbox system until you understand exactly what you want to add in terms of custom fileds and where you need them to show up.

Hi ,

This can be accompalished in two ways.We can do it throgh workbooks or can be done manually.

• Download the enterprise Workbook from the SAP sourcing link:
• Go to SAP Sourcing Login as enterprise/Buyer
• on the Top Right corner,you will find "Reference Guide" link as
• Click on it and choose index link .
• Download the relevant Enterprise Deployment workbook relevant for your requirements from the links.
• In the Enterprise workbook add your new custom field details in the Localized resources and Value list types/value list values(in case of dropdown).
• And you can follow the steps provided by Gary in the Extension defintions , and ui_overrides to maintain the metadata details.

And you can peform all the about mentioned steps manually if you have sufficient authorizations in the system.
