Sm 7.1. - IT Servicemanagement Performance Tuning

Hello experts,

we are using IT Servicemanagement of Solution Manager 7.1 SP 8.

This is based on WebUI.

But the performance is not very good.

Only at opening an incident/change request you get the Loading-Circle.

Or if you select en entrie from a drop-down menu also the loading-circle.

Does someone know some performance-tuning-guides for this?

We are not facing any server-problem (no memory issue, no cpu issue, ...)

Thx to both of you for help.

Regarding note 1676755.

Does someone of you know, which outbound plugins I can remove (I already have a Z-Navigation-Role but it is a copy of SOLMANPRO-Role).

I only want to use Incident-Management and Change Request Management and Knowledge Articles.

Hi Christian,

You can surely delete from your z role below plugins mentioned  1676755


  • Remove the plugs which you do not use (for example you can remove the TPM_TRADEPROMOTION related plugs, if you do not use Trade Promotions or ACP_ACCOUNTPLAN, if you do not use Account Planning).

Hello Kamil,

this plugins I already know, but what else can be deleted?

How is it at your ITSM.

Isn't it possible to work in the ITSM without getting always the "Loading-Circle".

I've also checked fully now note 1676755 (only plugins removing is missing) but performance is still not very good

If you have development system you can play with plugins.

Also check performance sap tcodes maybe there is performance issue.

SAP performance Transaction Codes

And instance profile parameters. There is a step using tcode solman_workcenter -> system preparation step 2 check installaltion acitivity check profile parametes:

This automatic activity checks the instance profile parameters for:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Business Server Pages (BSP)
  • Timeout for ICF services
  • Maximum work process run time

Requirements



  • SAP Note 1582842: Profile parameters for Solution Manager 7.1
  • SAP Note 817529: Checking the SSO Configuration
  • Installation Guide and Security Guide for SAP Solution Manager

You have imported the instance profiles.

Activities


To perform this activity manually, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the link in the Navigation column and open the instance profile.
  2. Make sure the following instance profile parameter values are defined:
    • login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
    • login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
    • SAPLOCALHOSTFULL = fully-qualified server name
    • icm/host_name_full = fully-qualified server name
      This parameter must be assigned to the fully-qualified server name (for example, wdfd002568.wdf.sap). The name must contain at least two periods. See also SAP Note 434918.
    • icm/server_port_X = At least one parameter named icm/server_port_X, which sets the PROT=SMTP
    • rdisp/elem_per_queue = at least 4000
    • csi/enable = 0
    • icm/HTTP/j2ee_0= Prefix=/,
    • system/type = DS
    • rdisp/max_wprun_time = at least 3600
    • abap/buffersize = at least 500000
    • abap/shared_objects_size_MB = at least 100
    • rsdb/ntab/entrycount = at least 30000
    • rsdb/ntab/ftabsize = at least 60000
    • rsdb/ntab/irbdsize at least 15000
    • rtbb/buffer_length = at least 60000
    • rsdb/cua/buffersize = at least 10000
    • zcsa/table_buffer_area = at least 100000000
    • zcsa/db_max_buftab at least 10000
    • zcsa/presentation_buffer_area = at least 20000000
    • sap/bufdir_entries = at least 10000
    • rsdb/obj/buffersize = at least 50000
    • rsdb/obj/max_objects = at least 20000

  3. For the parameters to become effective, restart the sytem.
