Hi All,
I am transporting my rule set (which is generated) from my GRC development system to GRC quality system. I would like to know if I need to re-generate them in target system?
Or simply transport them and start analyzing roles/users against this rule set without having to generate?
Please advise.
Regards,
Faisal
Hi Faisal,
check below tables
GRACACTPERMSYS
GRACUSERCONN
GRACRLCONN
GRACACTRULE
if data is not available in last table, generate them in target system too

Naveen,
Thanks for your reply.
I was wondering then what is the use of Rule transport?
I was under the impression that once I generate rules in GRC Development system, simply I can transport it until GRC Production system. But seems, after transporting them, we need to re-generate!
I am yet to understand the exact purpose of this rules transport facility in GRC!

The ruleset transport functionaliity takes the raw tables and transport them to the target system. The generate rule-set feature then associates them to appropriate risk ids, rule-ids and function-ids. Since these are likely to be different in each systems based on what master data changes have occured, you have to generate in each target system so as to align with the current status in target system.
Hope to have clarified your question.
Thanks

Hello Faisal and Sneha,
Though a very old thread, just happen to see this and thanks a lot both of you for sharing knowledge and asking question on transportation of ruleset.
