SAP not starting

Hi All,

SAP is not starting up, on check I am getting the below errors. Please let me know incase of any suggestions.

Most likely this is issue with the OPS$. Check various OSS notes recommended above and available in service market place.

As suggested by Ashutosh Chaturvedi follow the Note 400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle

Also check 1576837 - ORA-01017: invalid username/password;

Also, dig in ORACLE/<SID>/SAPTRACE/USERTRACE and other Dev_Disp and Message server to get more relevant information.

Hi,

This may be a problem with Database, so dispatcher is not restarted.

Make copy of srv file from D:\usr\sap\SMP\DVEBMGS<Instance NUMBER>>\exe

and restart the server.

Hi,

It seems you changed the password directly from Oracle (of your schema owner) which is causing to this.

Disable the password parameters (if configured at database) -->

Change the password using brconnect (as mentioned by Rishi) -->

Check the database connectivity using R3trans -d ->

Post the trans.log and dev_w0 log, if issue still exists.

*ORA 1017 key word gives you hundreds of links in SDN/Google.

Hi Subbu,

Its clear from your log that DB is not able to connect.

Most likely the issue is with password.

Check with the SAP Note 556232 - Environment settings for R/3/Oracle on Windows.

Also, as it has been suggested above, check 400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle.

Please ensure that you have maintained the password like this :

brconnect -u / -f chpass -o SAPR3 -p <Password>

Also can you confirm on the following :

a) R3trans -d  output ? 

b) when you issue startsap ---> what is the output in the dev_disp  and dev_ms files.
