Customizing transaction OVZ2, field Accumul.

In customizing transaction OVZ2, SAP recommends to use value 3  in field Accumul. / ONVBA (Required quantity when created, conf. qty when changed). Why is that ?

Why does SAP not offer an option 4, which would be Required quantity when created, required qty when changed ?

Because now the availablilty check behaves differently during create (VA01) and change (VA02) sales order.

Hi Kundan,

although the link is clear in the explanation of the options in OVZ2, it still does not explain or motivate why SAP recommends option 3 and why there is no option 4, which sounds logic to me. With option 3, during creation of a sales order, ATP takes all required quantities into account (confirmed and not confirmed), but when you change a sales order only confirmed quantities are taken into account. So in VA02 in general you can confirm more, all not-confirmed requirements are ignored. So why does SAP not offer option 4, like "Required quantity when created, (also) required qty when changed" ?  Because then the ATP during create and change would be the same (as it is also in option 1, but this is for confirmed quantities).

So my question is still not answered.

Can you explain with some examples how it is getting changed for better understanding?

Hi G,

in OVZ2 you have 3 options w.r.t. cumulation:

1 Cumulation of confirmed quantity when created and changed

2 Required quantity when created, no cumulation when changed

3 Required quantity when created, conf. qty when changed

SAP recommends option 3. Why ? With option 3, during creation of a sales order, ATP takes all required quantities into account (confirmed and not confirmed), but when you change a sales order only confirmed quantities are taken into account. So in VA02 in general you can confirm more, all not-confirmed requirements are ignored. And why does SAP not offer option 4, like "Required quantity when created, (also) required qty when changed" ?  Because then the ATP during create and change would be the same (as it is also in option 1, but this is for confirmed quantities).
