Changing Shipment Number Range Interval

Hi Experts,

Looking for standard procedure of changing the number range interval of Shipment document. The number range is about to expire.

1. Only Standard Intervals present and only "01" used.

2. Sandbox, Dev, Testing and regression systems having different NR status.

3. Do i need to transport maintaining or changing 01.  In that case what happens to NR status(current number) field in target system.

4. Or directly opening up Prod system on a off time and changing is better way?

Hi sudhahar,

Number ranges are always has to be maintained manually in Production

This is one of the manual activity during Finalization and cut-over strategy.

If you want to transport , number ranges unlike normal transport of configuration and customization a special process has to be followed, however there could be some risks involved with these transports as well

So it would be better if you maintain number ranges manually

I believe this could be the reason why we always change number range in PRD directly.

In your case only 01 is used so you can use any other combination from standard ones or you can create your own number range object.
