Hi All,

We have several application servers hosted on the same physical servers.  Can we use one shared installation of SUM for updating all these systems?

Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig,

> several application servers

Does that mean you have several systems, each of them with their own system-ID, or do you have several application servers (instances) for one system (one system-ID)?

SUM will take all instances of a system into consideration.

But for several systems, you will have to have a separate SUM folder for each system.

(I do not use "installation" for SUM as you do not have to install it, just unpack the archive.)

Kind regards, Boris

Hi Boris,

Sorry yes we have several systems each with their own system-id all on the same physical machine/s.

Apologies, I use the word installation as a means of saying wasn't there before, not necessarily installed so to speak.

I just wanted to avoid having 4 or 5 800MB directories for each system if I could have avoided it.

Thanks for the clarification.

Craig
