Roles and Responsibilities For BODS

Hello,

Can any one give me an idea about the roles and responsibilities of BODS Admin guy and BODS Developer.

I want know the difference and nature of work they do.

Hi,

In simple definition BODS Developer will Extract data from source and update into Target ( Source or Target could be anything for example database,file,xml, etc)

In General both BODS Admin and BODS Development handled by same person some exceptional case there will be separate BODS Admin

Why there is no separate admin ?     BODS is very simple and easy to handle.

BODS ADMIN

  Installation and upgrade

  Creation of JOB Server

  Creation of User

  Creation of Repository

  DBA Activity ( Creation of the database and monitor database growth)

  Trouble shooting

BODS Development

Two type of developer

  DWH ( Datawarehouse development)

  SAP Datamigration  or SAP related

Pre Request for DWH

  Good in SQL and Data Modeling

Pre Request for SAP Data migration

  some  SAP knowledge

Team size for DWH

Manager

Lead

Solution architect

BODS developer

BO Report Developer

Source DBA (eg.. ORACLE)

Target DBA (eg., HANA)

Tester (optional )

Team size for SAP Data migration

Manager

BA(Business Analyst)

BODS developer

Functional Consultant
