Connection between data base server to application server

Hi Experts,

I am new for sap, I have two servers and i need to install Data base (SQL SERVER latest version) In one server and  Install sap in another server.

Finally i need to connect this two server, so please guide me for this.

Hello

What I've understood is that you have two servers. You want to install SQL Server database on one and SAP ABAP on the second one. If yes then get the installation guide and follow the distributed installation part of the SAP installation.

Hi Janardhan,

You have to select the installation guide according to the SAP NW 7.x and database from the installation guides in SMP. As Benjamin said, you have to download your required document here.

Hi Janardhan,

You didn't mention any of the details clearly.

You have to mention OS, database, SAP versions clearly. So that any one here can guide you how to download the document from service market place. Do you have the access to SMP ? If you have access to SMP then you can download the required document using this guide finder.

Hi, Sudhir,

OS is Windows server 2012 R2 Data center

Data base is SQL Server 2012

SAP  is ECC6 EHP5

and I have access to SMP also.

My Problem is, I have servers and i need 2 install data base in one server and SAP in second server,

After this i need to connect to this data base to SAP sever so that please guide me for this.

Here download the required guides and start the installation.

In installation procedure, first install sql server on one server.

In the second server, download the required software and use the latest SWPM tool by selecting the option distributed installation.

If you don't have idea of using SWPM tool, look over the guide in SMP how to use SWPM tool.

Hi Janardhan,

Look into this link for information on SWPM.

Before using the SWPM, check this note: 1680045, for which version of SWPM to be used for your installation.

Thanks for your quick response.

I checked everything SWPM tool useful for only Net Weaver version.

In given Note ,It is not useful for ERP and SRM.

And one more thing is Using SWPM for installation we need all files like Kernel and exports.

Now a days every installation is done by SWPM tool only. SAP has changed the SAPINST tool to SWPM tool.

Hi Janardhan,

Please read the installation guides:

Installing SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 on SAP NW 7.0 EHP2

Installing SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 on SAP NW 7.3 / 7.3 EHP1 Java

In these guides it will be clearly given all the installation process. You have to select the SWPM according to the NW release you are opting.

You given all Installation guidance document.

I need how to Configure Data base server (SQL SERVER 2012)  to application server  (ANY SAP system) ,this two installed in two different server.

This configuration is possible with SWPM tool. If possible Which option  we need to select.

Hi,

After starting the installation with the respective SWPM, then you have to choose the option Distributed installation. In the distributed installation mode, it will ask the details of the other server where you have installed the database server.

Hi,

You have to go for the option according to your requirement. Whether is it EHP6 or EHP7.

Whether is it ABAP or Java.

You have select the Distributed system option not the standard option. You read the description over there on the right hand side and fullfil the prerequisites before installation.
