IDT can't delete a project

Former Member

Having given up in despair after numerous attempts to rename and restructure a project (- due to the spectacular ineptitude of IDT it seems the only thing to do is to delete the prohject and  start again ) , I have DELETED a project.

Only to find that it is NOT deleted. It's still there .

So how do I fix this ?

Maybe you need to make sure you select the option to delete from disk? If you forgot to do this then when creating a new project with the same name it will just re-add back in all of the old content.  As suggested above you can manually delete the project files too.

Which version of IDT are you on?  4.0 SP05 and before are total trash.

Hi David,

What is the version of the tool you are using. This is not a normal behavior and you should not have any issue with deleting any project.

David,

Couple of things you can try:

  • Check the Task Manager to make sure all "InformationDesignTool.exe" process has been killed, they will hold the project in memory and allow you to delete.
  • Manually delete project, if using Win7 go to \Users\<LoginID>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\
