DB Oracle 11G

EMC Networker VTL

in device manager i can see VTL is configured with server but I dont know how to set parameter in initSID file. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

This ins't an SAP question.
For configuration details read your EMC Networker manual.

Just a few things I remember from an EMC Networker project:
You will need an additional program, called backint, and provided by EMC.
And in your initSID.sap file you will need an entry util_par_file, pointing to another file, containing networker specific configuration.

hope this helps

One more tip:
You will need an additional license from EMC, for using Networker along with Oracle and/or SAP.

As a workaround you might consider to use brbackup for writing your SAP backups to disk, and in a second step save those backup files to EMC Networker, making use of your EMC license for taking file system backups.

Pro: Less license fees for EMC.
Con: More costs for more disk space.
