There is a three system landscape(Dev --> QA --> Prod) where customer want to switch off automatic forward transport request from Dev to QA system.
Now when ever we release the transport from Dev system, it's getting added automatically in QA system in import buffer.
Please provide some suggestions.
Customer problem was When releasing transport has been imported in QA system automatically due to customer has enabled some stms parameter. Now issue has been solved, transport has not being imported automatically when releaing from Dev to QA. I understood customer problem was wrongly and any how i got some clarifications about this topic. Thanks to All. |

I don't understand the logic of not allowing the buffer in your QA environment to be populated.
Can I ask out of curiosity what is your customer requirement?

Hi Anand,
Pls check below links for parameter for TP
for disable automatic transport from DA to QA change the parameter 1 to 0..for more clarification check this link.

You are saying to change IMPORT_SINGLE_STRATEGY parameter value from 1 to 0. If we change this parameter then transport strategy will change to Workflow-Controlled Transports.
So that we need to create approval procedure whenever we want to forward transport to QA system due to Workflow-Controlled Transports strategy.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Hi Anand,
You have to put Virtual systems between Dev-Test-Prod, to stop automatic addition of transport requests whenever they released from one system.
In this case for each transport request, target system will become virtual system, so once TR imported it will be available in virtual system only not in next (TEST/PROD) systems.

Dev --> VIR --> QA
In this case, Tr released form Dev will be added to import queue for Virtual system. SO it will not come to import queue automatically. If you need to import this in QA, you need to manually add this in import queue (STMS_IMPORt > Extras > Other Request > Add).
QA --> VIR ---> PROD
If you are also putting VIR in between, once TRs imported in QA will not come in PRD import queue. SO keep this if you need this, else not.
