Passing prompt values

Hi,

I have a OpenDoc link on my dashboard which opens a Webi document by passing the prompt values. (Both are based on BEx via OLAP connection.)

I've converted it to "sapbi://" link for BI Mobile. Link can open the related Webi document within the application.

However the prompt values are not working. (They work fine in browser).

What is wrong with the link below?

Server : SP7 Patch 1

SAP BI Mobile : 4.4.28

sapbi://OpenDoc/?authType=SAP&ConnectionType=BOEConnection&connection_name=XXXX&server_url=XXXX&cms=XXXX:6400&Type=webi&iDocID=AWAlqK0aQe1ImcfovSn6e9g&useInstance=&sRefresh=Y&IsSZ_CALMONTH=01.2014&lsSZ_PROJECT=XXXX&lsSZ_CURR=USD

Thank you!

Hi Steve,

Your version of SAP BI is very old. Please update the app to the latest version which is 5.1.6. If you are using an iPad 1, they are no longer supported.

Try this to generate a working link:

1. Refresh the Webi report on the SAP BI app with your desired prompts

2. Tap the gear icon to view the toolbar

3. Tap on email and send the email to yourself

4. Take the sapbi link from that email and place it in your Dashboard.

It will open the report with your selected parameters

You should be using the prompt text rather than field name (&lsSEnter Project Name=XXXX )  in the open doc link..

Is this something specific to BI Mobile? I create the links with technical names of the variables for desktop version and they work fine.

By the way, passing prompt descriptions instead of technical names didn't work.

It should work.. I am using this in a lot of my report and they work just fine

However I will suggest to creae link using the Link creation wizard  by double click create new link..
