EA-FIN activation and possible impacts

Hi Experts,

I need to activate EA-FIN (Financials Extension) in ERP 6.0 EHP6 system.

I have gone through some notes and documents but still I am not sure if there might be any impact in the already live system.

The procedure, as far as I understand from

1641394 - How-to activate Business Function in Switch Framework (SFW5)

is as follows:

1. Log on to the development system with  SAP_ALL authorization
2. Disable all batch jobs
3. Close the system for all other users

After that activate, wait for the job to finish and create transport.

Kindly asking you about these queries:

• Do we need to perform steps 2 and 3 when importing in QAS>>PRD too?
• Regarding the impact on the system, I used Impact Analyzer in SFW5 and there was nothing displayed. Is there any note which I might be missing in this case and should read before activating?

Yes.

Hi

As it is a new Business Function activation and it is a change which is irreversible , would be best if you try the same out in some sandbox system and then get the functional people to run through and verify that everything is fine.

Also I would like to keep a good backup of my system ( in case the changes need to be reversed back ) ..
