Aggregation Event not working

Former Member

Hi,

I have commisioned two epcs(object event) and tried to perform aggregation event on these two epc to create a hierarchy.

It is working fine , if both have same event message extension table.

If both are having different event message tables, then aggregation event is behaving unexpectedly and not triggering rules in proper sequence.

Kindly suggest, Is it possible to perform aggregation on two epcs as parent and child having different event message extension tables??

Thanks in advance

Hello Ratnakar,

i think it is not possible. Two different Extension Tables would imply two EH Types and i think than the Hierarchy would not work. I think the design assumes it si only one EH Type involved. I haven't seen PTA scenario with different EH Types.

Hi,

Just explaining a bit more.

I have commisioned 5 articles(5 epcs) through Event handler ARTICLE.

Then commisioned a bag(1 epc) through Event Handler BAG.

Both are commisioned successfully.

Then I have tried to perform aggregation event, keeping bag as parent epc and 5 articles as child epcs.

In this case, If both are having different Event Handler Extension Id but same Event Message Extension Id, It is working fine. ARTICLE Event Handler ruleset are triggered for 5 child article epc and BAG EH ruleset is triggered for Bag epc as expected and also they created hierarchy successfully.

But If both(ARTICLE and BAG EH) are having different Event Handler Extension Id and different Event Message Extension Id in EH Details, then they are performing completely unusual. The parent ruleset are triggered for child epcs (Here: BAG EH is triggered for 5 articles epcs) .

Is there anyway, we can change the sequence of execution of various rulesets (Through custom approach) for various epcs?

This sounds strange. Normal behaviour should be that only the Ruleset is processed that is assigned to the EH. Are you using the standard PTA ruleset?

But could you not use only one Event Message Extension table for both EH Types?

Best regards,

Steffen

No.. all re custom rulesets...It seems...multiple Event Message Extension table cannot be used for various EH Types to perform aggregation.

Thanks
