I have a requirement that the pricing should be calculated on basis of material weight in Sales order.

As i understood , if you are ordering 10 material each of 2kg, your price should be calculated based on 20Kgs.
you can give a try with condition type which has calculation type as D - Gross Weight

If the sales unit of the material is maintained accordingly, for example KG, then system will consider that. What is your Base Unit of Measure and Sales Unit maintained in material master.
