Hi Ajay
Were you able to get the backup working as the date in the error post is from 27 Dec.. I am assuming that it was working all fine since then ..
Looks a clear case of at your Storage End. Please check with the hardware vendor if all is okay at their end.
Then try a fresh backup and see what is the message you get !!
Thanks

Hello RD,
We have problem for offline backup on ECC PRD system. But every time we can not down the production system. So we have try to tested offline backup on one of testing system which is copy of production system. After that we was again take the same offline backup but in that case only whole database offline backup completed and redo log backup job not started.
So i have posted previous backup error. We have checked at hardware end and its all are ok.
We have schedule the offline backup thru HP data protector software. I just want know that there is any missing in offline backup parameters.
Right now we have using offline backup command is -t offline -d util_file -c
We want whole database offline + redo log backup, please suggest the correct command so we can ensure

Hi,
It is really surprising that still few of the clients are depending on offline backups.
We do not take any offline backup for any of SAP systems, we do take online_cons backups which are restorable and recoverable (Because we get very less maintenance windows for SAP environment).....It's a different thing.
On your issue - Have you checked the online backup? I mean online+archive log?
Check and update the status.
Issue seems with your backup drive/media, a test backup of online+archive log can give some hint.

Hello Nick Loy,
Thanks for valuable suggestion but online database backup done successfully and we have scheduled archive backup separately on another tape.
Only in offline backup scenario we want run backup as a offline database _ redo log, which is not run thru HP DP, so there is any command or parameters required for offline database+redo log backup

Hello Ajay
BR0226I Rewinding tape volume in device /dev/rmt/0m ...
BR0278E Command output of 'LANG=C mt -f /dev/rmt/0m rew':
/dev/rmt/0m: Device busy
BR0280I BRARCHIVE time stamp: 2013-12-27 17.23.40
BR0279E Return code from 'LANG=C mt -f /dev/rmt/0m rew': 1
BR0213E Winding tape volume in device /dev/rmt/0mn failed
This is mainly an issue with the tapes at the storage side.
I would involve the storage specialist to identify the issue.
If the backups were running fine until the 27th of the December then I would wait until the next backup to see if this repeats.
If yes then involve the storage specialist and also raise a support ticket with the vendor.
Regards
RB

if you check the log you pasted, the issue is your drive was busy when archive log backup triggered.
BR0278E Command output of 'LANG=C mt -f /dev/rmt/0m rew':
/dev/rmt/0m: Device busy
