High paging rate alert VS swaps buffer - ST02

Former Member

Hi everybody, I'm facing with a lot of alerts in Solution Manager, they concern to "high paging rate" whereas in ST02 there isn´t a high quantity of swaps. I think both processes are related, or not?

I've attached a document with some snapshot and questions.

I'll appreciate any help

Thanks in advance,

Santi

Hi Santiago,

You initial records hit ratio is very low at only 20% check your history for this specific buffer.

Run the RSTUNE56 report or in transaction ST02 and selecting History (Shift+F6)

For initial records perhaps increase the following two parameters.

rsdb/ntab/irbdsize

rsdb/ntab/entrycount

Refer to note specifically dedicate to this buffer 1250278 - Low "Hit Ratio" for "Initial Records" buffer.

Also view note 702728 - Profile parameter for export/import buffer instances focusing on your OTR buffer where the following parameters apply:

rsdb/otr/buffersize_kb

rsdb/otr/max_objects

rsdb/otr/mutex_n

What are the current sizes of your OTR parameters?

Also for why the value in different in st02 on solman vs your system you will have to investigate can be many thing i.e. are you saposcol and SMD agent running on your satellite systems?
