SAP not able to connect Database:

Wed Jan 15 13:24:20 2014

C  *** ERROR => Connect to database failed, rc = -10709 (Connection failed (RTE:[1] could not connect to socket [10060]))

[dbsdbsql.cpp 139]

B  ***LOG BV3=> severe db error -10709    ; work process is stopped [dbsh         1241]

B  ***LOG BY2=> sql error -10709 performing CON [dblink       544]

have you changed the SAP profiles to reflect the new DB hostname, after you changing the database host?

thats te output of r3trans -d

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

C:\Users\nspadm>r3trans -d

This is r3trans version 6.22 (release 720 - 18.11.11 - 11:29:00).

unicode enabled version

R3trans=>sapparam(1c): No Profile used.

R3trans=>sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

Request socket connect error, rc = 10060

as per below link not much option you got rather than checking the correct hotname etc...

-10709: Connection failed (<description>) (SAP Library - Basic Information)

-10709: Connection failed (<description>)

Explanation:

Connection to the database instance failed.

<description> contains the internal error message.

User Action:

  • Check whether you entered the right connection data (name of the database instance, name of the computer).
  • Check whether the database instance is ONLINE.
  • If you want to establish a connection to a database instance on another computer, check whether the X server is running on the other computer.
