SAP Fiori UI Theme Designer 'Preview cannot be accessed' message

Former Member

Hi folks,

When i try and access the SAP Fiori UI theme designer, i receive a message stating ' Preview cannot be accessed'.

I am therefore unable to proceed using the UI Theme Designer. I have looked at SAP Note 1906793 and this note is not applicable to my gateway, i am also using the same protocol on in the URL, http. This protocol is working for all the other fiori functions.

Please assist? Your help would be much appreciated.

Below are the logs from my browser and the error displayed on UI Theme Designer:

Hi Oliver,

Please check Support Package level for UI add-on.

Also check the note 1852401 - UI Theme Designer for SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP (main SAP Note)

Make sure you are always starting UI Theme Designer by using the transaction /N/UI5/THEME_DESIGNER.

If you want to theme Fiori applications, you should use one of the SAPUI5 themes (Blue Crystal, Gold Reflection). I don't think High Contrast Black theme is meant to be used together with SAPUI5 applications.

Hi Masa and Samuli,

SAP UI5 Add on has been upgraded to SP06 and i use transaction /N/UI5/THEME_DESIGNER to start the theme designer but i still recieve an error message stating the 'Preview cannot be accessed'.

Please see below error message and browser log:

Below is the SAP UI5 Add on on SP06:

Please assist me further, i am not sure what exactly is going on here.

Hi Oliver,

Please try this.

1. Open a Fiori app in browser.

2. Open the theme designer in other tab in same browser.

3. Copy and paste the app URL from 1 to the test app in the Theme Designer.

Both app and theme designer should use same protocol. http or https. If you mix it, it won't work.

UI2_SRVC is still SP5, it probably doesn't explain the problem you are having but you should still have all components at the same level.

Hi Masa,

I am using the same proxy.. and i followed the steps mentioned below and it still gives me the same error.

See browser error message below: There are no errors on the Gateway log in trans /IWFND/ERROR_LOG.

You are using short form URLs, at least with WDAs long form (FQDN) URLs are a requirement. Configure a domain such as domain.com and see if it makes a difference. You could use instance profile parameter icm/hostname_full to test before fixing permanently.

Hi Samu,

Thanks for your help, this is fixed now, we needed to add our domain name to my host file.

And to add the fully qualified domain name to the UI theme designer url.

Thank you.

Oliver

I'm glad it's solved now.

: maybe the FQDN requirement should also be added to the FAQ, or is it already there?
