Import XI content in SAP PI 7.40 AEX - Using NWDS possible?

Hi all,

I'd like to know if it is supported / possible to use NWDS to export / import XI content or manually (without CTS+) generated PI content on a PI 7.40 AEX.

I already know this note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1865292 but I couldn't find the mentioned path in SAP help and also couldn't find any helpful resources on SCN so far.

Any insights would be great as I really liked to use NWDS most of the time and only switch to ESB / IB when absolutely necessary.

Thanks and kind regards

Jens

Hi Hareesh,

thanks a bunch. This link was really helpful.

So i tried the steps mentioned but now getting an error when trying to export.

Failed to read server response

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: http://<pi_hostname>:<pi_port>/dir/filetransport/Download?TransportRequestID=da357b877dae11e3befb0000001be086

  at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLConnection.java:1459)

  at com.sap.xpi.client.util.HttpUtil.readServerResponseStream(HttpUtil.java:196)

  at com.sap.xpi.client.directory.TransportTypeProvider.getTransportStatus(TransportTypeProvider.java:275)

  at com.sap.ide.xpi.ui.transport.wizard.TransportStatusMonitor.run(TransportStatusMonitor.java:106)

  at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:55)

However, when I try to open the mentioned URL in the browser, I can download the *.tpz file without problems.

Proxy settings within NWDS should be ok, however, I also tried switching to "direct" as the "pi_hostname" should be accessible without proxy as it's in the same network as my computer.

Any clues? Is this a bug in NWDS or some kind of missing access rights?

Thanks & Cheers

Jens

Hi Jens - I don't think it's some access issue as you are able to download with the same user i believe

Some kind of n/w setting or It might be a temparory glitch. Did you retry?

Thanks for the link. Very useful blog. However, I was initially looking for resources describing manual (file based) import / export, not using CTS+

(side note: we will implement CTS+ soon, but for now it is not yet available to our environment so I must stick with file based operations)

Thanks and kind regards

Jens

Hi Jens,

According to the SCN wiki

All transports can transport by using CTS+ or Enhanced CTS

Please check the below link for reference

Features of PI 7.31 - Process Integration - SCN Wiki

If you find the way of file transport with NWDS then please post the solution.

Harish

Hi Hareesh,

I am still not able to figure out the option in NWDS. Can you please give some screenshot to export and import from NWDS?
