SAP BPC Installation

Hello everyone,

I have the following situation:

I have a Netweaver BW 7.0 (ABAP) and I'm planning its upgrade to version 7.31 (No Unicode).

The BW has also the SEM Server software components: FINBASIS + SEM-BW.

After the upgrade I'm planinng to install the SAP BPC 10 addons, however, the installation guide says the following:

2.1.3 Server Prerequisites

For SAP NetWeaver 7.3 Including Enhancement Package 1

■ SAP NetWeaver 7.3 Including Enhancement Package 1

● Application Server ABAP – PI_BASIS 7.31

● Application Server ABAP – SAP ABA 7.31

● Application Server ABAP – SAP BASIS 7.31

● Application Server ABAP – SAP BW 7.31

● Kernel (64-bit) and Unicode only

■ An operating system supported by SAP NetWeaver

■ A database supported by SAP NetWeaver

■ SAP NetWeaver Add-in POASBC ABAP component – version POA_SBC_100_731

My questions are the following:

1 - ¿Can I use this BW for installing the BPC despite having the SEM software components?

2 - As it says Kernel 64 bit and Unicode only, do I need to perform an Unicode conversion first?

3 - After the upgrade to BW 7.31 ¿Can I connect this BW with BO 4.0 or 4.1despite BW being No Unicode?

You need to perfrom unicode conversion for this.

Hello

According to the above guide the system should be running on a 64 bit unicode kernel.

And SAP BPC only supports Unicode systems.

In this case you will need to do a unicode conversion.
