APO-Production Planning Run-Planned orders w/o Source of Supply

     APO gurus,

Production Planning Run occurs in APO against valid PDS. Some of PDS have Min/Max Lot sizes.

However, in the non assembly, the system bahaves with a lot for lot procedure. We get planned orders being created outside the Min/Max lot Size set in PDS, and get planned order covering the exact requirment, which is exactly what we want, but planned orders created are not referring to any PDS. This resuls in planned orders witout output (components) which causes us some issues in term of demand on dependent requirements.

Is there any enhancement point that would allow the "BOM selection", without creation in ECC/APO a specific BOM/PDS without opeartion and lot size range. ECC behaves like that when no valid production version is set, BOM is selected.

Hi Cyril.

Maybe you can use BAdI /SAPAPO/RRP_SRC_EXIT (Method RRP_USEX_SOURCE_FILTER), or BAdI /SAPAPO/PWB_SOS (Method PWB_USEX_SOS) to change the lot-size range during source determination (when orders are about to be created). In APO there is no separation between BOM and routing, so if you modify the lot-size range here, the operations which may not be valid for that lot-size will be added to the order as well.

Hello Cyril,

As per my understanding Planned Order without Source of Supply is unwanted.  All such planned orders can be deleted using Z program by implementing the BAPI_MOSRVAPS_DELEMULTI from the planning version.

This program can be run immediately after SNP run.

First of all thanks for your reply.

To clarify, my need.

We need Planned orders, with or without Source of Supply (PDS).

The issue we have, is that order without source of supply don't show any components, because the planne dorder qty is not meeting the Min/Max lot sizes of the Source of supply.

We expect to get same results than a MRP Run in ECC, if no valid production version can be selected (because of the planned order qty, not in the Production version lot size's range), then the first active BOm is slected. This results in planned order without production version, but at least with component requirements.

What I have not said, is that we don't want any operation in our planned order, when planned order qty is not eeting the source of supply lot size's range.

Mainly this occurs in the non-assembly segment, for which we don't want capacity requirements forecasts, but into which we want to see component requirements.

We are looking for the same behavior than in ECC during MRP run. If no valid production version can be selected, because order Qty can not meet the priduction version lot Sizes, we want planner order being created with the component requirement. In other term ability to see components of the source of supply without the operation (BOM).

We know that we could manage this thru BOM in ECC that we would CIF in APO as PDS w/o operations, but this is some master data maintenance we would like to avoid.

So, our requiremernt is an enhancement that would select only the component list of a source of supply, if planned order qty is not in the active PDS lot Size's range.
