Hi Guru,
I have a problem with the functional area filed on my cost element master data.
When I changed the functional area in GL master record the corresponding cost element is not reflected the changes.
However, when I go into the cost element master data change mode the filed for functional area is greyed out.
Does anyone know the below mentioned question?
1. How to edit the functional area field. or
2. Explain and help me why functional area isn’t updated in cost element.

Hi,
If you have to change the functional area and postings already exist, you can change the error message from work area FH with number 600 to a warning message and then change the functional area. You do this in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) ® Tools ® Change Message Control. You then have to transfer existing postings manually.
