Universe access level Restriction Override

Hi All,

In my Universe i applied Row level security on Country.

I am having some confusion .

Chandrakanth is a user in USA Group and Global Group.

I applied country= usa and assigned to USA group and country != Usa assigned to Global group.

So Is chandrakanth User get Usa and all the countries data or Only USA data or Other than USA data?

Please clarify it.

You need to set the priority of your restriction set if you are BO 3.x. If its in BI 4.x either in Data security profile or Business layer security profile

You ill will get both as you belongs to both the group.

So chandrakanth User will two reports ....1 is USA data and 2nd one is Otherthan USA..

You are setting priority for the user group rather than the column for which security has to be applied. Priority will be used whenever the user belongs to more than one overlaying group. Have you done any testing or is this a hypothesis?

If you use != with = then they might even cancel out and you end up with nothing.

If you used ='USA' and ='Canada' you may end up with both.

Test it yourself.

You should get 1 report with all the data . its like Union.
