Hi
How does Charm process transports which are approved for production?
Is all necessary information stored in Charm or is also information needed from ECC tables?
For example is there a table in ECC which handles open transports which are in testing but not in prod yet? Or is this all in Charm now?
I'm asking because we are wondering if we need to backup any transport tables in ECC when we do a system copy from PRD(production) toTST(Test) to refresh the ECC test system.
Is Charm still able to approve and import transports into PRD or does it need the information from a transport table in ECC?

Hi
These all are very generic charm questions, you can get it clear by reading couple of charm related basic blogs and help.sap. One of the promising blog, I always refer as below

Answer for all the three was same, Charm basically a workflow to control transports, It has all the system/user roles to support the process, there is the feature as CTS/CTS+/CCTS actually handles the technical support your transport. In CTS+ makes solman acts as master domain controller, you need link your ECC domain controller to solman domain controller. this actually control the transport happen via Solman, until you approve the TR in solman, no one can move this to PRD. similarly you can create TR direclty in ECC via solman. Thats make the difference.
Rest all the setup ( TMS routes) all same for charm, including transport tables.
refer here SAP Tips: How to find a transport request in ECC if you have a charm number
