Hi All,

We have quality assurance Server having production data(start to 2012) cause we done client copy at the end of 2012. Now we are thinking to have 2013 data. then We have to do client copy again. Is there any way to copy 2013 data in QAS client and we don't want to delete the old data from QAS. Is there any way to do remote client copy with selective transaction data?

Hi,

I dont think that you can have any setting to copy data as per dates without deleting the old data.

Is there any way to copy 2013 data in QAS client and we don't want to delete the old data from QAS

If changed then will be over written .

Thanks

Hi

You can choose from  different profiles based on your requirements. If you do SAP_ALL, then it will copy over all the things including user master records and authorizations.

Generally - for application data - we use SAP_APPX  ( it is SAP_ALL without the authorization data ) ..

Check the profiles here :

Copy Profile (SAP Library - BC ? Client Copy and Transport (BC-CTS-CCO))

based on your requirement , you can choose it

Thanks

Hi,

You need to choose the profile that suits your requirement.

Before coming to the conclusion you should check with you team what is the purpose of the testing and the requirements...

How big is the client?

How many client your quality have? Do you want it to be similar to production....

If the size id too big why don't you follow the backup/restore method and do system copy than client copy.

In this case you get the quality system a clone of production...

Hi

Does your PROD server still have the data ( which was present during the time of the last client copy ) ..

In such a scenario , the client copy now will result in your QAS server having the same data as PROD.

Anyways , the basic purpose of the client copy will be to have the similar data in the QA environment as PROD to simulate testing scenarios etc..

Thanks
