Viewing Webi reports in Excel Format on iOS 7 Devices

Good morning,

We are seeing some issues with viewing Webi reports in Excel Formats on iOS 7 Devices.   In particular the Submit Date field does not display as a date/time field but rather a generic number.  To be clear the reports have been generated in Business Objects and then scheduled to be sent to the customer in Excel format.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Perhaps you could work around by changing the variable's date type to string. Then Excel would not treat it like a number. I am not sure but I think I read somewhere that this issue you experiencing is a bug.

If the date format is to be dd-MM-yyyy, I suggest something like

date [reportdate]

=dayofthemonth([reportdate]) + "-"+ monthnumberofyear([reportdate])+"-"+year([reportdate])

Hope it helps

Does the same behavior observed on iOS6 as well?

Unfortunately we do not have an iOS6 device to test on.  We just made the transition from Blackberry to iPhone and I do know that the field was visible on the Blackberry with no issues.
