SCAC codes creation in Production from Development

Dear Experts,

We have a pain area for maintaining the SCAC codes.

Since SCAC creation is a master data and part of SPRO which will be done in Development system, it will ask for Transport request whenever a new entry created. We have a new set of SCAC codes created/maintained on a daily basis and they will be available in Production only when TR is imported. According to our project activities, Transport requests are scheduled to be imported for every 2 weeks. Thus it is impacting business and they can not wait for 2 weeks to make these new SCAC codes available in production.

Though we can open the production for direct update, this will lead to lot of risks and lost the sync between Development, Quality and Production systems.

Our Development team is in plan of creating a program which will update the database table in all the systems (Quality and Production via RFC call) by executing it directly from Development system.

I realize, it is not recommended as we are bypassing the SAP system landscape.

Could you please guide, whether it is a recommended approach or not?

If not then why?

We have decided not to proceed with the mentioned approach since we are deviating from the SAP Best practices of CTS (Change and Transport system).

However this can be achieved by creating a RFC destination and calling RFC Function module in all landscape systems.
