We use SWPMSP04 to change an ECC6's system number from 00 to 01.
The change is strictly limited to
DVEBMGS00-> DVEBMGS01
ASCS01 -> ASCS02.
All others remain unchanged.
However seems SWPM requires a change to a new DB. Any way we cannot pass following screen:
I read this guide again and again , it did not say DB has to be changed.
Do you have any experience on this?
Thanks!
Hi,
Please check the PPT.
So far, such changes could only be performed via system copy
So please read the guide.
Can also check if you want to do it manually.

Well, as the system number is only applicable for the SAP system and not for the database I would manually change the system number by renaming all the file system which has the system number.
Modify the profile parameters with the new system number.
Reconfigure the /etc/services profile.
I am not sure whether the system rename tool is working as designed.
