Hi Folks,
I have a stand alone license for PB 12.5 and its installed on my office computer. Sometimes I have to work from home so when I logon to my computer (remote desktop) via CITRIX I cant open the PB IDE. I am getting an error - PB license is invalid. Can someone please advise a solution?
Thanks
Rob
Hello Robin,
If you want to use PowerBuilder remotely, your license file should be created as a SERVED license.
That implies to install a 3rd party tool called SySAM (SYbase Software Asset Management) which will act as the license server to host your served license file(s).
I'm almost sure you have generated the PB 12.5 license file as UNSERVED
I'm attaching good links to distinguish szenarios between unserved and served licenses in the SAP ecosystem:

PowerBuilder SySAM Served License Install - Wiki Stage - SCN Wiki
So what you need to do is:
a) Install SySAM on a permanent machine (which will not be rebooted)
b) Generate a PB served license file which points to this SySAM machine
c) Install this served license file onto the "licenses" SySAM subfolder
d) Install/use PowerBuilder with the correct license type (aka served)
Hope this helps,
Jacob
