Hello Experts,
I'm wondering if anybody here come accross this issue:
I have few workmodes configured in SOLMAN 7.1 SP08 for monitoring of CRM & PI systems.
Somehow, after sheduling of one of these workmodes some BPMon metrics become grey. These metrics start working again after the workmode finished.
Any idea what potetially can be wrong with this workmode?
Thanks & regards,
MM
Hi MM,
In Work mode management once you set the workmode template for particular system means system under maintenance schedule.
So due the reason the BPMon metric went gray to avoid the alerting.
Please provide the metric details which will help to analysis the exact issue.

Karthik

Hi Karthik,
Thanks a lot for advice!
The metrics are mainly Short Dumps:
1. Number of Short Dumps (Today)
2. Number of Short Dumps (Yesterday)
3. Number of Short Dumps (last 5 minutes)
4. Number of Short Dumps (last hour)
These metrics become grey ones workmode called 'Peak Business Hours' sheduled.
Monitoring is enabled for this workmode:
Template setting is below:
Any help please?
Many thanks,
MM
Hi again,
On the configuration you pasted here are two metrics which are not activated
1. Number of Short Dumps (Today)
2. Number of Short Dumps (Yesterday)
Also all the other ones they have a "modified" flag on, could you paste a configuration on the metric level? Could you also mention which changed you made in those metrics?
Regards,
Jolanta
Hi Jolanta,
Thanks a lot for advice.
The config is below:
I also noticed that Metrics without Work mode Specific Threshold Settings are working fine, even with sheduled Workmode.
For example: the metric below is working fine (it's not grey) even when the workmode is scheduled:
The metric WITH Work mode Specific Threshold Settings is grey when the workmode is scheduled, and it's working fine when the workmode ended:
I believe the problem is somewhere in the Workmode settings..
Any idea?

MM
Hi again,
The setup looks fine, I don't really see any issues here. I think just as a check I would remove the changes on the alert and event level (sometimes inheritance dependencies can have an influence here) and although settings on the metric should be the ones that will always be the valid ones from time to time some small errors happen there as well.
I can see that you have also some other modified metrics except the ABAP dumps, do they also give any issues or dumps monitoring is the only one behaving funny?
Regards,
Jolanta
Hi MM,
I'm not sure if this is related to the workmode, BPMon is not using workmode settings and its collectors should not be dependent on it. How are you collecting the data (in monitor scheduling do you use "data collected in background" or not?).

Jolanta
